 LETTER FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Good Day, welcome to the Lawton Chiles Elementary website. Our school is named in honor of the late Florida Governor Lawton Chiles. He championed many causes for children. Yearly, at our school we hold a community celebration in honor of him. Hundreds of parents, students, teachers, and community members join us during this day of community connection.
Our school is nestled within a community of homes and apartments. Our families come from diverse backgrounds. Our school holds high academic and behavioral expectations of our student body. This outlook is in tune with our district vision of “being the top producer of successful students in the nation”. Regardless of the socioeconomical background of our students, they will be given the opportunity to succeed.
We encourage our parents and business community to become active players in the development of our students. It is critical that our community be involved in school organizations like the Parent Teacher Association (PTA), Parent Leadership Council (PLC), and/ or the School Advisory Council (SAC). Together we can work towards our districts mission of “leading our students to success with the support and involvement of our families and community”.

At Lawton Chiles, our students, parents, teachers, and community are always working together towards the goal of student achievement. It takes everyone involved to work as a team to achieve this goal.
